Day 1 - November 9th

Boy what a rough morning....four hours of sleep and we are off for the trail.....well, not really just yet. After shaking off the cobwebs and getting a little "hair of the dog", we headed down to the office where Dave and Cindy (the proprietors of the Parkview Lodge) had a carb loaded breakfast waiting for us.

The First Evening - November 8th

Well, the fun got started around 11 PM when Mark (four hours late) showed up at the Parkview Lodge. After being their only five minutes, John and Tony had him drinking scotch and chugging beer. Now, while this is a totally appropriate way to celebrate Tony's 39th birthday, it is NOT the way to start a backpacking trip.

Anyhow, these festivities lasted until nearly 3 am when exhausted, inebriated and punchy from trying to decide how much clothing to pack (it was 19 degrees) or whose pack weighed more, Mark, Tony and John called it a night.
